ACQUISITION & LOCATION The Sawed-off Shotgun is not tied to a specific mission unlock. It appears as a pick-up weapon in the open world of Watch Dogs (2014). You will most often find it in the hands of ctOS security guards in mid- and low-tier districts, or stashed in back rooms of criminal safehouses. Defeating an enemy carrying one and picking up the weapon is the most reliable method. It is also occasionally found in alleyways and parking structures in the Lower West Side and Pilsen areas. Effective range is extremely limited—beyond roughly three to four metres the spread widens and damage drops sharply. There is no stealth or hacking bonus attached to the weapon itself; it is a pure close-quarters tool. Firing it is loud and will alert nearby enemies, so it is best used after a hack has already disabled the immediate threat.
